The back story.
A cry for help in our mail inbox one evening was the initial mode of contact. The founder and CEO was having problems with their overcomplicated website Content Management System (CMS) had deleted two paragraphs of vital information on the landing page and was about to fly to the U.S. to oversee a tour. Could we help? After a couple of return emails, It transpired that the client had also requested for the inclusion of a range of features when their site was being built, one being for the site to be responsive – which it wasn’t. Other frustrations were that what she considered small changes, were met with unreasonable associated costs. The brief. Our first stages are always to get to know the client better, understand their business and their vision for it’s future, and what the real problem is. We worked on this while the tours were underway, so we could get up to speed on the company and problems. We sent the client a list of findings, and a balanced critique with our suggestions for the areas that could be improved upon. Unexpectedly (for the client) this not only contained our recommendations for the website, but the brand as a whole. Including all brand touchpoints and a complete creative review of all the current assets. The solution. Together we determined the way forward was a new website to include all of the features and functionality that they sort. This should be coupled with a simple and easy CMS that was accessible via mobile devices, to enable updates whilst on tour. Next, we changed the look & feel of the branding based on the findings of a competitive analysis, and made a raft of recommendations on how the client could automate and streamline processes. This would free them up to do what they do best... Unique tours and great customer service. The result. Digiphics assisted the client by setting up a simpler easy to implement system. Whilst the visual branding is now on target, It was the research and our analysis that was the greatest asset in concluding a successful outcome for our client. The new identity and assets now provide a base for the company to increase business through it’s new and improved applications with reduced workload and input, leaving them more time to concentrate on their business. The initial reactions from the clients customers are encouraging and the new direction has been well received. We will be checking back with the client regularly to measure progress. |
